About The Position

The Account Manager, Stop Loss is responsible for delivering high-quality, proactive service to existing and new accounts while supporting overall business goals. Working in close partnership with Sales Representatives, Underwriting, and Home Office teams, this role ensures a consistent and positive client experience throughout the lifecycle of an account. The Account Manager builds strong relationships with assigned clients, brokers, and internal partners by providing timely communication, expert guidance, and thoughtful problem-solving. A strong understanding of internal processes, renewal workflows, stop loss contracts, and product features is essential to effectively support clients and business partners. This role also plays a key part in onboarding new clients and ensuring smooth implementation of sold business.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in group insurance account management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Stop Loss experience strongly preferred.
  • Professional certifications or designations appropriate and relevant for this role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary service contact for assigned accounts, delivering proactive and responsive account management through scheduled calls, emails, conference calls, and webinars
  • Manage day-to-day service needs, including monitoring claim reporting requirements, premium remittances, and ensuring accurate and timely uploads into the Employer Excess Loss platform
  • Respond to client and broker inquiries with accuracy and professionalism, anticipating potential issues and addressing concerns to ensure positive outcomes
  • Lead and coordinate the renewal process in collaboration with Regional Sales Managers, Underwriting, and broker partners, with a focus on retention and long-term client satisfaction
  • Guide new clients through onboarding and account installation from point of sale through contract delivery, including orientation and demonstrations of the Group Online (GO) portal and other value-added programs
  • Partner closely with the RFP Analyst team to ensure a smooth, consistent experience during the quoting process for internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a resource and mentor to RFP Analysts by sharing broker knowledge, account insights, and best practices for building strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams on special projects and service-related initiatives, including process improvements and post-implementation reviews
