About The Position

We are hiring an Outside Sales Representative/Account Manager for Portland / Vancouver. Fluid power is commonly seen in markets that include logging, forestry, agriculture, medical, material handling, construction, automation, robotics, government and more. Our Fluid power systems are comprised of a myriad of components, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hose, fittings and much more. Applied Industrial Technologies/Applied Fluid Power is seeking an Account Manager where you will establish and expand relationships with current and prospective customers. As the primary knowledge base, you'll directly impact our customers and the bottom line.

Requirements

• 2+ yrs outside sales experience. Industrial customer experience a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently.
• Proven experience maintaining existing customer base while developing new business.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required. College degree preferred.
• Knowledge of the practical application of pumps, hoses, fittings, and/or hydraulics, pneumatics is preferred

Responsibilities

• Meet with current and prospective customers to assess system requirements and product needs / applications.
• Achieve sales and profit goals by developing existing customers, opening new business, and customer retention.
• Conduct sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services.
• Prepare quotes and proposals, follow up and negotiate terms, and close transactions.
