About The Position

Dexter is the premier manufacturer and supplier of axles, suspension, brakes, doors, venting products, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components serving the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets has an opportunity for an Account Manager for the Northeast Region supporting our growing manufacturing business. Headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, Dexter has manufacturing and distribution locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. Employing state-of-the-art robotics, precision welding equipment, and automated machining processes, Dexter has achieved many years of success through a commitment to the principles of superior quality, continuous improvement, and unparalleled customer service. This role expands market presence throughout the Northeast U.S. region with primary focus in PA. and drives revenue by identifying, pursuing, and converting new opportunities while deepening long-term relationships with established accounts.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor’s degree in business or marketing, or a comparable discipline and at least 3 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a state issued driver’s license that allows for driving without restrictions, except for restrictions related to physical or mental impairment(s) that do not prohibit successful job performance.

Responsibilities

  • Makes daily sales calls and prepares call reports.
  • Prepares and conducts sales presentations.
  • Establishes target accounts and tracks progress of accounts to gain business.
  • Participates in ongoing product training to aid in the sales of these products.
  • Quotes product pricing to current and potential customers.
  • Submits pricing contract revisions to the Pricing Administrator for current accounts.
  • Provides technical support to clients.
  • Continually works on enhancing sales and profit margins for all customers to help achieve the highest sales plan possible.
  • Maintains strong relationships with key accounts as well as non-Dexter accounts.
  • Develops creative ideas with distributors and direct accounts to help increase sales of new products.
  • Communicates key information from the marketplace to management.
  • Provides timely updates in the company CRM system on accounts, opportunities, competition, and call reports.
  • Submits monthly commentary to supervisor.
  • Attends and actively participates in monthly Cadence Calls and any other program or training assigned.
  • Works trade shows, open house events, and/or other shows requested by customers as needed.
  • Performs other tasks or duties as assigned.
