Our Account Managers play a critical role in our sales team, ensuring customers have everything they need to succeed, from providing instructor resources to arranging training. They bridge the gap between sales reps and Customer Support, anticipating instructor and administrator needs to delight every Macmillan customer. The primary goals of this role are to increase and maintain a base of business and upsell print business within an assigned territory. Teamwork, collaboration, and communication are key to success, as is the ability to connect and engage with customers. This role does not have managerial responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in maintaining accurate sales and customer records.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous sales experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce as a CRM.
  • Previous Higher Education experience.
  • Passion for exploring emerging tools and platforms that enhance digital sales, virtual presentation quality, and customer success tracking.
  • Ability to advocate for emerging AI technologies within a sales, support, or education technology environment that can enhance customer retention strategies, digital product upsell efforts, and overall territory performance.

Responsibilities

  • Actively and accurately manage company CRM tool (Salesforce). This includes, but is not limited to, all customer interactions, contacts, sales opportunities, and pipelines to be reflective of revenue expectations within a given territory.
  • Regularly use internal data and analytics to identify at-risk customers and develop action plans geared towards driving usage and increasing renewal rates.
  • Target upsell opportunities by converting print to digital and increasing sell-through at Inclusive Access enabled schools.
  • Provide consistent, pro-active outreach to clients via phone, video, and email to ensure they are aware of the latest features, content, tips & tricks, etc. that will enhance their teaching experience and improve student outcomes.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute online presentations or schedule demos as needed to faculty and institutional contacts throughout the year.
  • Assess and respond to individual instructor needs by listening, understanding, and overcoming obstacles to provide the best solutions to meet the customer's specific needs.
