About The Position

Account Manager II oversees the daily key account quoting, booking, and general administrative activities on assigned accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferable.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.
  • In-depth knowledge of selling strategies and methods, as well as employee motivation techniques.
  • Solid working knowledge of the company's products, competitive products, and the market.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex issues and know when to refer to higher-level manager.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Access, PowerPoint Presentations).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management and ownership of assigned customer accounts.
  • Matrix management of Customer Service Representative assigned to your accounts.
  • Manage day to day customer and vendor quoting activity.
  • Develop and drive applicable quoting, sales, and gross margin budgets and objectives.
  • Ensure rigorous compliance to all customer flow down requirements on all customer orders.
  • Work with cross functional team to optimize inventory levels and supplier performance metrics.
  • Monitor your bid win/loss ratios and identify trends to ensure market leading promotion of Company products and services.
  • Review customer activity, anticipate customer needs, and drive customer satisfaction / scorecard metrics.
  • Accountability to budget control, inventory availability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain key customer buyer relationships.
  • Provide guidance to more junior level Account Managers.
  • Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for assigned accounts as required.
  • Handle Federal Contract Information (FCI) as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
