Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Healthcare Security Manager or Director.
  • Proven experience in Emergency Management, including planning, training, and incident command.
  • Strong understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC) regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and execute TJC-required drills.
  • Experience with Environment of Care standards and committee reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CHPA, CEM, FEMA ICS, CHEP) preferred.
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in emergency management, Criminal Justice, or Healthcare Administration.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of healthcare security operations, including personnel management, policy development, and risk mitigation.
  • Lead investigations, threat assessments, and incident response protocols.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies as needed.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency management plans.
  • Lead planning, training, and execution of emergency preparedness activities.
  • Serve as Incident Commander during critical events and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and other applicable regulations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct all required drills and exercises.
  • Maintain readiness for TJC audits and inspections.
  • Participate in Environment of Care (EOC) rounds and reporting.
  • Serve as a key member of the EOC Committee, contributing to safety and risk assessments.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to leadership committees.
  • Conduct ongoing training for staff on security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Promote a culture of safety and preparedness throughout the organization.
