The Account Manager will serve as the single point of contact for commercial customers interested in opportunities that are eligible for The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) Commercial Direct Install Program. The candidate must be able to target and qualify customers for the program, develop and maintain customer relationships, and develop energy savings solutions in collaboration with Program management to ensure progress towards program goals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in sales or outreach in a fast-paced environment; a proven track record of developing strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders is required.
  • Base knowledge of the following technologies: Water heating – experience with heat pumps is ideal. Mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, and variable speed drives. HVAC equipment and systems, such as chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, chilled and hot water loops, and boilers. Lighting technology and lighting controls, such as LED, occupancy sensors, daylight harvesting, etc.
  • Experience selling in the commercial sector, such as with hotels, grocery-store chains, retail, and/or healthcare customers.
  • Proficiency with technology, including MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be organized, highly detail-oriented, and a “self-starter”.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing multiple projects effectively, with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of Willdan and its clients.

  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
  • Must have reliable, on-demand access to transportation for daily travel within the assigned market area, including client visits, outreach, and scheduled meetings. The Account Manager must comply with the Company’s business expense reimbursement policy. A valid California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required, in accordance with Company, affiliate, and client standards. Ongoing acceptable driving record is required, with regular motor vehicle reports being pulled and reviewed for acceptability by management.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research to develop and implement customer outreach strategies.
  • Identify and enroll customers using various prospecting approaches including direct calling, in person “door-to-door” and/or email.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication to address needs, provide updates, and resolve issues.
  • Conduct facility assessments to identify program-eligible opportunities for rebates/incentives.
  • Collect required project information and data to quantify energy savings, cost savings, and benefits, consistent with program and policy requirements as necessary.
  • Report pipeline information accurately and on time to the program team and data systems.
  • Meet financial goals linked to weekly and monthly sales and business development activities outlined in the commission plan.
  • Attend weekly and monthly sales meetings to review goals, report on daily sales, and discuss weekly activities geared towards program sales targets.
  • Attend and/or support event tabling and direct community-based outreach activities.
