About The Position

The ESCO Group Account Manager will be specifically focused on the water/wastewater industry and will be responsible for, but not limited to: Identify, qualify, and pursue new water and wastewater project opportunities. Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and related documentation to understand project scope and define ESCO’s scope of work. Collaborate internally and externally to prepare and coordinate scopes of work, estimates, proposals, and bid responses for public and private projects. Manage and maintain strong relationships with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and municipal utilities. Serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams to ensure alignment on project scope, strategy, risk, and execution. Manage project risk through strategic collaboration with internal engineering, project management, and execution teams. Provide high-level oversight of projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring continuity from pursuit through execution. Work collaboratively with Client Success Managers and Project Managers and technical execution teams to align on project strategy, staffing needs, and resource planning. Participate in the refinement and development of internal standard operating procedures specific to water and wastewater projects to improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability. Represent ESCO at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and client meetings as appropriate. Utilize, support, and maintain compliance with ESCO Automation’s standards, best practices, and safety requirements. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in engineering from an accredited college or university and six or more years of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree (A.A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year technical school with eight or more years of related work experience; or
  • Candidates without a degree require ten or more years or related work or industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in account management, business development, or project management within controls, instrumentation, automation, or electrical contracting.
  • Strong ability to read and understand P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and engineering plans and specs.
  • Strong knowledge of process instrumentation.
  • Strong knowledge of public bid processes and contracts.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, and field instrumentation.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • 2+ more years of project estimating, proposals and working with clients during the sales process.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer technologies including, but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness

  • Able to accommodate up to 25% of overnight travel for services at clients facilities that are out of town. The amount of travel is largely dependent upon project scope, schedule, and assigned tasks.
