The Account Executive field sales role supports the development and retention of customer relationships within a defined territory. The Account Executive will assist with managing existing accounts, engage in field-based customer interactions, contribute to new business activities, and develop foundational sales skills. The position focuses on building knowledge of solution-based selling and driving account success, with opportunities for progression into more senior sales roles.

Requirements

  • Experience in sales support, inside sales, or a customer-facing B2B role.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with customers or eager to gain field sales exposure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with a proactive, goal-oriented mindset.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and basic reporting.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for customer visits and training (up to 50%).

  • Exposure to technical, engineering, or industrial environments.
  • Interest in test and measurement equipment, rental solutions, or B2B services.
  • Understanding of solution-based or consultative selling principles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of sales performance metrics and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to foster long-term success.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients; act as point of contact for customer inquiries.
  • Conduct personal outreach to warm leads and early-stage prospects, generating qualified opportunities.
  • Generate new business through existing and potential customer networks.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries and follow up with assigned accounts or regional prospects.
  • Assist with quote generation, CRM updates (Salesforce), and opportunity tracking.
  • Collaborate with marketing and inside sales teams to support outbound campaigns and local events.
  • Participate in training on sales techniques, account planning, and industry-specific knowledge.
  • Work with Customer Solutions Specialists and technical teams to ensure proposals, pricing, and solutions align with customer needs.
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions; suggest actions to improve sales performance.
