About The Position

FoodMinds, a division of Padilla, is seeking an Account Executive to join their team. FoodMinds partners with leading food, beverage, and nutrition organizations to navigate the evolving food and nutrition landscape. The Account Executive will support high-profile client accounts by delivering insights, developing and executing communications tactics and programs, and translating science into clear, compelling messaging. This role involves monitoring the nutrition, health, and wellness landscape, supporting strategic communications and marketing initiatives, and contributing to projects related to dietary guidance, sustainable food systems, nutrition research, and health and wellbeing. Successful candidates should have a strong interest and expertise in food, nutrition, and health, along with a foundational understanding of food and nutrition policy and broader food environment trends. This is a hybrid position based in Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston, or New York City. FoodMinds is an award-winning food and nutrition communications and consulting company that uses science, public affairs, and communications to help clients tell impactful stories.

Requirements

  • Strong interest and expertise in food, nutrition and health
  • Foundational understanding of food and nutrition policy and the trends shaping the broader food environment
  • Strong work ethic, can-do attitude and an acute eye for detail
  • Demonstrate solid written and verbal communication skills, including writing and editing that is free of typos and grammatical errors, developing and designing PowerPoint presentations, active listening and synthesis to develop internal and client meeting summaries, messaging, and developing social media content and other materials
  • Work across teams to prioritize and juggle responsibilities, comfortably functioning in a fast-paced working environment with multiple projects and deadlines
  • Interpret and critically analyze scientific research to support evidence-based strategies and insights-driven approaches
  • Appreciate and openly accept constructive feedback; apply key lessons and grow from experiences
  • Anticipate account needs, creatively problem solve, and proactively manage projects
  • Show passion for and understanding of food and nutrition policy, nutrition science, food systems, sustainability, and food, nutrition, health & wellness trends
  • Build meaningful relationships with clients, influencers and other stakeholders, demonstrating FoodMinds’ unique expertise and value as a trusted and respected partner in nutrition, health & wellness communications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition, public health, public policy or a related discipline; equivalent working experience will be considered
  • 1-2 years of experience working in food and nutrition communications, public policy or related roles

Nice To Haves

  • Registered dietitian credential preferred
  • Communications agency experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Stay up to date on the food, nutrition, health and policy landscape, with an eye to important topics such as dietary guidance, sustainable food systems, food as medicine, and precision and personalized nutrition
  • Monitor legislative processes, both in the U.S. and internationally
  • Translate science and policy updates into actionable recommendations and compelling communications tactics and resources for clients as well as health professional and consumer audiences
  • Manage day-to-day project details, timelines and workplans with accuracy and thoroughness
  • Actively contribute ideas in team meetings and brainstorm sessions
  • Proactively manage time (including accurate time entry), assignments and to-do lists against deadlines
