Account Executive

Avèro Advisors
$80,000 - $100,000

About The Position

This is a role for someone who is early in their government technology career and ready to do the work to become great at it. You will work alongside a Director of Sales and a Founder who know this market cold — and they will show you how it works while you execute alongside them. You are not handed a territory and left alone. You are given real pipeline, real relationships to tap, and real mentorship from people who have closed in this space. What we need from you is effort, coachability, and the hunger to own your number. If you are looking for a place to learn the SLED market from people who live in it — and to build a career in an industry where relationships compound over time — this is a strong place to start.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of sales or business development experience — ideally in technology, consulting, or public sector markets
  • Genuine interest in government technology and public sector operations — you do not need to know everything, but you need to care about learning it
  • Ability to prospect, qualify, and follow through without being managed to the task — you are self-directed and accountable
  • Clear, professional communication — written and verbal — that builds trust with government buyers
  • Willingness to travel for conferences, client meetings, and relationship development

Nice To Haves

  • Prior exposure to ERP, financial systems, or technology consulting sold into government
  • Familiarity with state and local government procurement processes, fund accounting, or public budgeting
  • Experience at a small firm or startup where you had to figure things out and build as you went
  • Any existing connections in the SLED market — procurement officers, finance departments, city or county staff

Responsibilities

  • Support and advance active opportunities in Avèro’s pipeline — understand where each deal stands and keep it moving
  • Prospect independently to identify new opportunities: research agencies, track procurement calendars, and generate qualified conversations
  • Build relationships with government contacts at the department and procurement level — and develop the skills to eventually engage at the executive level
  • Attend government technology conferences and association events (ICMA, GFOA, NACo, and similar) to represent Avèro and expand your network
  • Qualify inbound inquiries and referrals and hand off or advance them appropriately
  • Assist with proposal development — contributing to scoping, writing, and formatting competitive responses
  • Track market intelligence: upcoming RFPs, budget cycles, agency modernization news, and procurement activity
  • Develop into a full-cycle seller — this role is designed to grow with you

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision coverage and 401(k) included
