About The Position

Newsradio 620 WTMJ is seeking a Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) to join our sales team to help drive revenue and create customized solutions for potential advertising partners. Newsradio 620 WTMJ is an iconic brand known as “Wisconsin’s Radio Station”, dedicated to providing a resource for the local community, bringing breaking news, weather, sports and more to listeners each day. The station is centered around four pillars; local news, personalities, professional sports and community, and now we are looking for a Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) to help lead our team into the future. GKB is a media and marketing company with expertise in leveraging the power of national and local sports and news to build brands and connect with fans through audio, video, digital and events. With offices throughout the country and our home office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, GKB’s team includes over 550 teammates and is recognized as a “Best Place to Work” by Front Office Sports, Sports Business Journal, and USA TODAY. The primary role of the Marketing Consultant (Account Executive) is to develop long-term relationships with area businesses and agencies by creating and selling successful, customized marketing solutions to local companies utilizing the Newsradio 620 WTMJ brand. Marketing Consultants (Account Executives) are responsible for account development, including prospecting new businesses and account retention.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ sales experience
  • Passion for sales and service
  • Strong network and relationships within the SE Wisconsin community
  • Goal oriented and creative self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Personal sense of responsibility and accountability
  • Passion to be a part of a team and the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment - a multi-tasker
  • Willingness to accept and provide feedback
  • Familiarity in CRM tool such as Salesforce and Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • With this career, you are required to hold a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Identify, uncover, and develop account opportunities
  • Develop relationships with area businesses and decision makers
  • Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the complete portfolio of WTMJ’s assets and create successful, customized marketing solutions
  • Continually educate yourself on media (both audio and digital) and new trends in the industry
  • Network with local businesses to expand your sphere of influence in the market
  • Ability to uncover marketing objectives and create solutions to solve those objectives
  • Ability to sell at all levels including C-Level positions
  • Other assigned tasks
