About The Position

The Account Executive for Tableau is responsible for engaging with existing customers and new leads to sell the entire Tableau platform, focusing on the Public Sector vertical. This role involves building trusted relationships with key stakeholders and C-suite decision-makers, driving analytics discussions, and identifying use cases within accounts. The Account Executive will develop opportunities through warm leads and whitespace prospecting, manage sales cycles, and coordinate internal resources to meet customer needs while exceeding sales goals.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of quota carrying software or technology sales and account management experience, ideally focused on selling to Federal Civilian agencies.
  • Experience selling into the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and other federal agencies with health priorities.
  • Ability to work well within a team in a matrixed environment.
  • Results-oriented with a strong focus on execution and commitment to Tableau's mission.
  • Passionate about insights-driven decision-making and skilled in value selling.
  • A mix of business curiosity and technical ability to address customer data challenges.
  • Solution selling mentality with the ability to develop plans and articulate value.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling in the software industry or technical sales experience (e.g., Server, Cloud, SaaS).
  • Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, or business intelligence.
  • Experience in transformational mission-selling and account leadership in analytics.
  • Strong interest in applying federal AI priorities and setting vision for the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with existing customers and new leads to sell the entire Tableau platform.
  • Build positive, trusted relationships with key team members and C-suite decision-makers.
  • Drive analytics discussions and identify use cases within accounts.
  • Develop key customer stakeholder relationships and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with the development and execution of long-term account strategies aligned to customer business objectives.
  • Coordinate internal resources including product support, customer success, and sales engineering.
  • Assist with account planning and ensure strategic alignment with other sales resources.
  • Manage sales cycles and present the value proposition of the Tableau platform to C-level executives.
  • Define and execute territory/account sales plans and meet/exceed sales quotas.
  • Develop and manage sales pipeline, prospect, and assess sales opportunities.
