About The Position

Zoom is seeking an Account Executive – State & Local Government and Education (SLED) to sell our Zoom One UCaaS collaboration platform across the Great Lakes region. In this hunter-focused role, you will acquire new customers within state agencies, city and county governments, and educational institutions (K–12 and Higher Ed)—helping them modernize communication and collaboration with Zoom solutions. As part of Zoom’s Public Sector SLED Sales team, you will expand our presence across the Great Lakes territory (Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia). You will partner with product specialists and channel organizations to deliver tailored UCaaS, Voice, and Contact Center solutions. You will report directly to Darren Duerksen, Head of State & Local Sales, and collaborate with a supportive team committed to driving growth in government and education.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful Account Executive experience with consistent quota attainment
  • Experience selling into Public Sector / SLED (State, Local, Education)
  • Strong background in UCaaS / SaaS / Cloud sales, particularly Voice and Contact Center
  • Experience managing government procurement and contracting cycles
  • Residency in the Great Lakes region (Chicago, IL strongly preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with government contracting vehicles (e.g., NASPO, state or education consortiums)
  • Knowledge of competitive UCaaS/voice ecosystems (Cisco, Avaya, AWS, Microsoft, Amazon)
  • Success in multi-product SaaS environments (UCaaS + CCaaS + collaboration tools)
  • Experience working with and through channel partners

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and grow new public sector accounts (hunter focus)
  • Sell the Zoom One platform with emphasis on Voice, PBX, and Contact Center
  • Build trusted relationships with executives and IT leaders in government and education
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive coverage plan for the Great Lakes region
  • Deliver demos, proposals, negotiations, and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Navigate complex procurement processes and long public sector sales cycles
  • Partner with channel organizations to expand reach and accelerate adoption
  • Accurately forecast pipeline and provide territory insights
