About The Position

Roku is changing how the world watches TV and is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The company's mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem, linking consumers to content, enabling content publishers to build and monetize audiences, and providing advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers. The advertising team at Roku works collaboratively to ensure clients understand the evolving advertising landscape, make optimal decisions, and drive advertiser interest and engagement. The Advertising Sales team is specifically responsible for driving ad revenue and helping clients achieve their business objectives. With the world shifting to streaming TV, the methods for advocacy and political advertisers to target, reach, and measure audiences have dramatically changed. Roku is seeking an Account Executive to partner with republican political and advocacy agencies and campaigns, demonstrating how to best leverage Roku's unique position in the streaming ecosystem. This role is on the front lines of generating media ad sales and custom content sponsorship revenue on the Roku platform. The ideal candidate will evangelize Roku's advertising offering to republican/conservative agencies and clients, requiring a strong background and contacts in the political and advocacy sectors, as well as a deep understanding of digital video advertising, executed via managed service and programmatically. The position demands the ability to work independently and utilize resourceful qualities to manage various duties in a fast-paced vertical, including relationship building, media strategy, presentations, marketing materials, and the ideation of custom solutions. The candidate must develop a sales strategy and business plan to drive new revenue streams for this ad business. Ideally, the candidate has worked in a digital start-up environment and is familiar with the dedication required for a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment that embraces uncertainty. Given the constantly changing landscape, this individual must persevere amidst change and strategically think about bringing additional solutions to create seamless workflows within the vertical. Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in digital advertising, programmatic and digital video
  • Demonstrates a successful track record of working closely with political and advocacy stakeholders and their agencies
  • Strong understanding of the RFP process
  • Previous experience working in a political election cycle
  • Deep understanding of programmatic workflows
  • Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities

  • Individual contributor for republican political vertical revenue, working against aggressive advertising revenue goals - need to hit the ground running and be a fast learner
  • Proactively build and maintain a pipeline of sales targets, contacts, and sales opportunities via cold calling and leveraging your connections at client direct and associated agencies
  • Strategically grow existing accounts within the vertical by providing strategic consultation, while exposing key partners to the full benefits of Roku products
  • Respond to RFPs: collaborate with account management, inventory, research, product, and marketing to provide appropriate solutions
  • Report on revenue projections/forecasts
