About The Position

Monks is seeking an experienced Account Director, Social with a strong background in the automotive industry to join our expanding Strategy & Planning team in Detroit. In this role, you will be responsible for driving successful social media marketing initiatives for our prestigious automotive clients, building and sustaining senior-level client relationships, and overseeing the social process for multiple projects. This position requires a strong on-site presence, working closely with clients in the Detroit area. Must have Organic Social Experience

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in a social media account management role, preferably within a marketing agency, consultancy, or client-side studio
  • Must have Organic Social Experience
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing senior-level client relationships in the automotive industry
  • Deep understanding of the automotive market, consumer preferences, and industry trends, with the ability to leverage insights to inform social media strategies
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience guiding and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt to change and navigate ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex ideas and strategies to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion for social media and staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements
  • Willingness to work on-site with clients in the Detroit area and travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior-level clients in the automotive industry, becoming their trusted partner for social media strategy, creative, and production
  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive social media strategies and campaigns, ensuring alignment with clients' business objectives and marketing goals
  • Coordinate the production process for multiple social media projects across our international offices, leveraging data and KPIs to optimize performance and drive results
  • Manage a team of project managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their success and professional growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional work that exceeds client expectations and pushes the boundaries of creativity and innovation
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and communication skills, effectively managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while keeping all stakeholders informed and aligned
  • Manage the financial process, including MSAs, SOWs, budgets, revenue tracking, and internal reporting, ensuring profitability and resource optimization
  • Maintain a strong on-site presence with clients in the Detroit area, fostering deep relationships and understanding their unique needs and challenges
