The Role The Strategic Account Director is responsible for leading sales growth and retention opportunities within the dedicated Large Enterprise account module. This role drives executive-level relationships, shapes multi-year account strategies, and orchestrates cross-functional resources to maximize customer value and revenue growth. Responsible for positioning Lumen's full portfolio of products and services to address complex business challenges, while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and long-term partnership. This role is accountable for development and execution of strategic and tactical account plans, as well as the accuracy of sales forecasts and disciplined account management of funnel and pipeline generation.

Requirements

  • Requires at least 50% or more of time conducting sales activities outside of the office.
  • 7+ years of industry sales experience.
  • Minimum skills required to perform in this role.
  • Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize with good time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills as well as proficiency in selling to the close.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
  • Proficient in MS office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge and understanding of the telecom industry's competitive landscape.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, own and execute unified strategic account plans for assigned Large Enterprise customers, including growth strategy, whitespace analysis, and clear action items to expand wallet share
  • Build and deepen trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders, including senior and C-level executives, to gain strategic positioning, influence decision criteria and secure long-term commitments
  • Proactively cross-sell and up-sell across the company's full product and services portfolio to increase overall customer spend, leveraging a strong understanding of the customer's business, industry trends, competitive landscape and outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (customer success, solution engineering, marketing, operations, finance, and executive leadership) to design and deliver differentiated solutions and ensure successfulsolutions and ongoing customer value realization
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date pipeline and weekly forecast, providing clear visibility into opportunity status, next steps, risks and upside in order to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets
  • Act as the internal voice of the customer, providing structured feedback on requirements, competitive activity, and market trends to inform product strategy, pricing and go-to-market plans
  • Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities in order to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.
