About The Position

The Account Director - Data Center Solutions is a pivotal role within Trane Technologies, responsible for leading a team of account managers, owning the overall account strategy, fostering senior relationships, and driving commercial outcomes with assigned Data Center Clients. This role requires a strategic, proactive, and business-focused individual who can think big-picture and orchestrate internal teams to align with account priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in account management, sales, or a related role, within the Data Center industry.
  • Previous Sales Leadership experience.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic account plans.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with senior executives and decision-makers.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Account Plans: Formulate and implement comprehensive growth strategies for key accounts, ensuring alignment with Trane Technologies' business objectives.
  • Maintain Relationships: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with executives and decision-makers within client organizations, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Negotiate Agreements: Lead negotiations for long-term agreements, including pricing and terms, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Align Internal Resources: Coordinate and align internal resources to prioritize and support account needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Lead Business Reviews: Conduct executive-level business reviews, presenting insights, progress, and strategic recommendations to both internal and client stakeholders.
  • Customer Insights: Gather and analyze customer insights, market trends, and innovation needs in partnership with Product Growth Teams to provide innovative solutions and product enhancement.
  • Ensure Client Satisfaction: Guarantee client satisfaction at the highest levels, addressing any concerns promptly and effectively to maintain strong, long-term partnerships.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of Account Managers, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to maximize their potential and drive results.
  • Sales Forecasting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and projections, monitoring performance against targets and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Pipeline Management: Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities and effective management of leads from initial contact through to closing.
  • Account Manager Development: Provide Account Managers leadership activities including 1-1s, pipeline reviews, skills development plans, and performance management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other internal teams to ensure cohesive strategies and optimal resource allocation for sales initiatives.
  • Reporting: Provide regular sales reports and updates to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
