About The Position

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for an Accessory Development Engineering Manager to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA.  The Accessory Development Engineering Manager will oversee the design and development of accessory components for Yamaha Motorsports products including Motorcycles, SxS’s and ATVs. The position is tasked with identifying and creating processes to develop accessories both internally designed and through external suppliers to ensure on time, on budget delivery.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering required.
  • Minimum of 10 yrs of managerial experience required.
  • Proficient in MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Must possess excellent engineering judgment and analysis skills.
  • Must have strong project management experience.
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen with the ability to develop compelling business cases.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize changing workload.
  • Up to 20% of travel required, both domestic and international.

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Experience with Smart Sheets is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product planning to establish clear accessory design direction that meets the customers' expectations for the market.
  • Work with Engineering and Procurement teams to assign the most effective product development path that ensures all the projects stays on schedule and meets target costs.
  • Establishes clear reporting and KPI targets that ensure accountability of all accessory development paths.
  • Manages the Accessory Engineering team in all day to day and HR related activities.
  • Designs, develops, documents and release new products to production (i.e., creation of 3D models for 2D drawings and bills of materials) for manufacturing purposes.
  • Provide suppliers with necessary design information to develop components and ensure production of quality products.
  • Approve and review designs / drawings of others within the department.
  • Maintain Department Development Flow charts and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Establish and track department budgets.
  • Manage departmental workload and manpower distribution.
