About The Position

Under general supervision, responsible for conducting initial intake interviews and implementing accessibility solutions for students registering with the department. Meets with students to screen for academic issues and follows up with the appropriate personnel to resolve issues as necessary. Utilizes a case management approach to ensure student accommodations are met.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree
  • One year of related experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
  • Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
  • Managing and resolving conflict in a positive manner
  • Analyzing relevant information to solve problems
  • Ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations, and take responsibility for a high level of service

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive intake sessions.
  • Provides information to students and families, including available services, procedures, and policies.
  • Coordinates accommodations for students.
  • Collaborates with College personnel and external vendors as necessary.
  • Arranges tutoring for students with accommodation needs, monitors and administers testing to students, and processes related materials.
  • Provides students with reading and scribe services.
  • Assists students with submitting semester request forms and other required documents.
  • Coordinates and tracks letter of notification disbursements.
  • Develops and presents workshops showcasing assistive technologies, auxiliary aids, and other accommodation tools and how to operate them.
  • Collaborates with college personnel for the development of marketing content for the department.
  • Assists students with course selections, assignments, scheduling, and placement.
  • Presents relevant information to students, including particular course offerings, course of study information, necessary testing, and prerequisites.
  • Assists with efforts to ensure security and confidentiality of Federal, State, and College tests and records, scoring procedures, data collection, and reporting.
  • Liaises among departments, functions or groups, within and outside the College.
  • Communicates information through various methods to appropriate personnel and others.
  • Designs and utilizes complex spreadsheets with multiple functions, formulas, and links.
  • Ensures required data is entered into established databases and prepares required reports for various internal and external requests.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
