The Access & Support Specialist provides limited reimbursement support services to healthcare providers and patients in keeping with United Therapeutics (UT) policies and procedures. This role also responds to requests for assistance, conducts eligibility reviews, and ensures that Patient Assistance Program participants meet ongoing requirements. The position involves providing limited, approved, and otherwise publicly available information to explain prior authorization, appeal, and denial issues specific to different payors, collecting and conducting benefits investigation information efficiently, and communicating with healthcare providers, insurance plans, patients, and their authorized representatives as needed. The specialist will triage inquiries appropriately and escalate issues per established escalation protocol, effectively utilize UT software and tools for the coordination of patient assistance program support, and conduct assistance application completion verification. Additionally, the role requires executing required tasks to record re-certification and other additional records while providing access to patients, ensuring accurate reporting of calls and activities to management, and maintaining current, accurate, and well-maintained department records.
