About The Position

The Access Service Representative at Grossmont Hospital is responsible for coordinating all registration functions necessary to ensure the processing of a clean claim. This includes obtaining and processing patient demographics, visit, and financial information to facilitate maximum financial reimbursement while promoting premier customer service. The role requires face-to-face interviews with patients and their representatives, ensuring accurate identification and delivery of regulatory documents, and securing patient financial responsibility. The position operates on a night shift from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, specifically on weekends only (Saturday to Monday).

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in a business service setting.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience discussing personal and financial matters with patients.
  • HFMA certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all registration functions necessary for processing patient claims.
  • Obtain and process patient demographics and financial information.

  • Secure patient financial responsibility.
  • Follow department guidelines for providing patients with estimate letters.

  • Document patient interactions and maintain accurate records.
