Obtain accurate and detailed demographic, financial and clinical information to perform accurate and complete admissions/registrations, while exhibiting warmth, compassion and responsiveness to patients, their families and friends, professionals and co-workers within the hospital. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Query EAD and enter patient demographics in computer system to obtain accurate patient medical record and account number Communicate Medical Center’s Collection Policy and collect outstanding balance amounts, deposits and point of service payments Verify insurance benefits and obtain prior authorizations for those payers that require pre-authorization Verify through Compliance Checker Software all Medicare patient diagnoses to ensure compliance with LMRP guidelines and obtain ABN’s as necessary Obtain physician orders to support services rendered Order ancillary tests within the order entry system Assist insurance companies, physician offices, and other hospital departments with patient information, etc. Monitor and coordinate patient placement through bed control functions in a timely and patient focused manner Other duties as assigned
