About The Position

The Access Manager provides leadership and oversight of the admissions, intake, and billing functions for program participants in accordance with funding requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. This role ensures compliance, operational efficiency, and revenue integrity while supporting clients, staff, and leadership in maintaining high-quality access to care. The Access Manager plays a critical role in safeguarding confidential information, ensuring eligibility coverage, and supporting the initial stages of Revenue Cycle Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work experience, specialized training, or healthcare billing/intake certifications.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare intake, admissions, or billing.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare billing and revenue cycle processes.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  • Effective professional communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and process improvement abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple funding and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to organizational values and mission-driven service delivery.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the full admissions and intake process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of intake assessments.
  • Monitor workflow efficiency and continuously improve intake procedures.
  • Oversee participant eligibility applications through County Mental Health Services.
  • Maintain full compliance of billing processes across all funding sources.
  • Oversee the initial stages of Revenue Cycle Management.
  • Ensure billing procedures remain compliant with contractual and regulatory standards.
  • Support clients with billing, benefits, and financial inquiries as needed.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and protection of confidential client information.
  • Maintain credentialing compliance and documentation required by funding contracts and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare intake and billing systems for audit readiness.
  • Directly supervise intake and billing staff.
  • Review and approve bi-weekly payroll for direct reports, if applicable.
  • Train new and current staff on admissions, billing procedures, compliance standards, and EHR systems.
  • Promote professional communication and adherence to organizational values.
