The Access Coordinator is primarily responsible for facilitating access to the academic programs, services, activities, and facilities of the institution for students with disabilities. The specific responsibilities include conducting student access plan meetings, reviewing disability documentation, and assessing the interaction of the student’s disability with the environment to coordinate reasonable accommodations. They communicate with instructional staff and other university officials (as applicable) regarding accommodation provision; documenting and maintaining appropriate electronic records of verbal and written communications. Reporting to the Senior Access Coordinator, the Access Coordinator will oversee the expedited registration, University Housing and Dining, Global Campus, Professional and Workforce Development accommodation request processes. Additionally, they monitor compliance, provide leadership and direction in all areas of the Center by providing university-wide consultation, education, and training on the social construction of disability and the intersections of disability with the social and physical environments. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
