About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to join UAMS Fayetteville Internal Medicine Clinic at Butterfield Trail Village as an Access Coordinator II. In this role, you will serve as a patient resource for scheduling and billing inquiries, facilitate comprehensive patient data collection, ensure timely and accurate billing, and oversee prompt payment collections. You will coordinate scheduling efforts and resolve conflicts, providing essential administrative and operational support. As a key contact for patients and the public, your responsibilities include greeting and assisting patients both in person and by phone, coordinating appointments, and facilitating access to care through effective data management and process implementation. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED plus two (2) years of customer service or healthcare experience. (Post high school course work can be substituted for years' experience)
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computers (preferably MS Office).
  • Excellent telephone etiquette skills.
  • Knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and data entry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a call center, registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
  • Medical terminology competent within 3 months of hire.
  • Experience working with EPIC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, reschedules, and coordinates appointments using the hospital systems by performing visit notifications for patients.
  • Conducts pre-registration as needed, as well as inputs and/or updates accurate patient information.
  • Process walk-ins, create new patient charts, and access systems for orders as appropriate.
  • Inventory, order, and stock supplies, clean and maintain equipment, Pick-up and deliver mail to mailroom, ensure the waiting room is clean, stocked with educational information, and coffee.
  • Responsible for scheduling and rescheduling appointments as requested.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
