Primary Responsibilities: The Access Control Technician is responsible for performing skilled technical work related to the installation, servicing, and maintenance of access control, video surveillance, and other low-voltage security systems across Northwood Ravin properties. Key responsibilities include: Install, service, and maintain physical security systems, including CCTV/IP video, access control, intrusion detection, and intercom/communications systems Troubleshoot and diagnose issues within system components and wiring Install head-end equipment, system panels, and associated hardware across multiple sites Manage and maintain a digital ticketing system to track work orders, service updates, and resolutions Review and archive video surveillance footage and audit access control logs Perform network cabling, installation, testing, and repair work as needed Configure and support local area network (LAN) devices including routers, switches, and wireless equipment Install software updates and system upgrades on security-related client and server applications Travel daily to Northwood Ravin properties throughout the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region (reliable transportation required) What you bring to the role: High School Diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of CCTV and Access Control systems experience highly preferred Ability to read and interpret building floor plans and diagrams. Basic knowledge of mechanical door hardware and accessories Availability to occasionally work overtime Ability to work independently with attention to detail. Strong communication skills are required. Ability to lift heavy equipment (~75lbs+ Network Racks, etc.) Ability to use basic hand and power tools and test equipment. Must be able to stand & walk for extended periods.
