About The Position

The Ohio State University is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients and staff. The Access Control Manager for the Department of Security, functions to support and manage the access control systems, resources, and services required to maintain a proper working environment. The Access Control Manager will also provide a broad-based support for hardware, software, production operations, and customer support. This also including but not limited to system maintenance, user-support, and training throughout the Medical Center and other hospital occupied properties. The Access Control Manager position for the Department of Security is responsible to support and manage the access control systems, resources; to provide a broad-based support for hardware, software, production operations, customer support, and services required to maintain a proper working environment. This may also include installation of hardware and/or software as well as trouble-shooting and serving as a liaison with users, vendor support, software adaptation, training, and general support throughout the Medical Center and other hospital occupied properties. Participates in identifying staffing needs, participates in developing work schedules and assignments, provides feedback on performance, arranges for training, and assists the managerial staff with other departmental functions as needed. Responsible for supervising Support Analyst and Access Control Students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree may be desirable.
  • 5 years of relevant experience required. 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Two years computer/technical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year police or security experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum one year experience working with access control systems.
