About The Position

At Lensing Building Specialties and Architectural Sales, our Architectural Sales Integration (ASI) team provides electronic building security and safety systems (such as access control, intrusion alarms, security cameras and smoking/vaping detectors) for commercial and industrial facilities. Our specially trained team installs these low-voltage systems and provides continued services, maintenance and upgrades. The Access Control Field Service Technician installs and services low voltage security systems in a new construction and a retrofit/aftermarket commercial and light industrial environment. The Access Control Field Service Technicians play a critical role in delivering top services to our customers with the basic scope of work to include new installation projects and service of existing installations. If you have experience in access control and camera systems, field service or have a general interest in commercial security system installation and service, this might be the job for you!

Requirements

• Valid Driver's license and insurable with company insurance
• 2+ years hands on experience troubleshooting and installing systems (access control experience a plus)
• Operate various power equipment such as power tools and drills
• Ability to read blueprints. Measure and apply basic math skills
• Lift large, bulky, and heavy objects and able to navigate warehouse to access both high and low items
• Comfortable with aerial installation work using ladders and lifts.
• Work non-climate-controlled setting
• In order to be considered for this position, you must be willing to comply to a pre-employment background check, drug screen, motor vehicle report, and physical.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with NEC Standards and electrical codes a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

• Install and service low voltage security systems in new construction and retrofit/aftermarket commercial and light industrial environments
• Program security, access control, and camera systems
• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and system upgrades at customer sites
• Collaborate with the project team with site planning, compliance, inspections and system commissioning after project completion
• Serve as the technical liaison between our customers and our system hardware and software manufacturers.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers by delivering outstanding service, training and support
• Complete service reports and documentation within project deadlines
• Provide assistance to other Field Service Technicians as needed, promoting a supportive team environment
• Terminate and install end devices such as card readers, motion detectors, glass breaks, electric locks, and cameras.
• Dress and terminate security panels within an IDF room
