Position Purpose: Join Mercy Care Atlanta as an Access Center Representative, where you'll play a vital role as the primary scheduler for our medical and dental services. This position ensures a seamless patient experience by managing appointments, verifying insurance, and providing essential support to our diverse patient population. What You Will Do Schedule and register patients for medical and dental appointments. Verify insurance eligibility, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial plans. Document appointment reasons and classify patients accurately. Assist patients with scheduling referral appointments. Make pre-appointment reminder calls to ensure attendance. Collaborate with volunteer physicians and support staff to optimize scheduling templates. Provide support to patients across all age groups, primarily adults and geriatrics. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Certification in medical insurance carriers, patient scheduling, or medical office specialist preferred. At least 1 year of customer service or patient relations experience in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in automated patient scheduling systems. Fluent in Spanish, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9 and CPT coding, OSHA, and HIPAA guidelines.
