Academy Performance Coach

About The Position

The Academy Performance Coach will oversee the athletic development of the age-appointed Academy players through the creation, implementation, delivery and evaluation of strength and conditioning programs that reflect scientific principles as they relate to age, adaptation, periodization, performance enhancement and injury prevention.

Requirements

BS in Sport Science or related course of study.
MS in Sport Science/Kinesiology/Physiology or related field preferred.
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Accreditation.
Practical performance experience within elite sport.
Experience handling and analyzing performance data.
Bilingual (English and Spanish) fluency is required.
Knowledge and experience of performance requirements for athletes.
Experience working with GPS and other monitoring systems.
Experience working in collaboration with coaches and other support staff.
Effective academic and applied knowledge of contemporary practice in physical performance development.
First Aid and CPR certification.
Understanding of Power BI and Tableau.
Proficient in computer with software such as: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Video Editing.
Strong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skills.
Good organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skills.
Passion for futbol is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborates with technical staff and coaches on the design, development and delivery of comprehensive strength, speed, agility, and conditioning programs for Academy team.
Conducts physical profiling, as directed by the Supervisor & utilize the data to design and implement physical interventions to increase physical capability.
Monitor and analyze physical loading data to ensure the appropriate loading and periodization of the team and individual players including GPS & Wellness information.
Conduct feedback sessions with coaching staff to inform training plan and session design.
Teaches proper execution, techniques and safety for all gym-based and movement drills.
Effectively motivates athletes to achieve the maximum potential in all areas of performance.
Assists in the design and implementation of recovery programs for individual players & groups.
Collaborate with Club Nutritionist with the implementation of nutrition education and support.
Travel with the team to provide support during Away games.
Work collaboratively with the Performance and Medical team to provide multi-disciplinary support to the players.
Under guidance of your supervisor collaborate in the review, development and co-ordination of Applied Sport Science, internal and external, research projects, contributing to an evolving World leading High Performance support program.
May be required to work potential additional camps (i.e. summer, development, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
