About The Position

Air Control Home Services operates an established internal Academy that has been developing HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical professionals for nearly four years. As the program continues to mature, we are seeking an Academy Director to strengthen its structure, administration, curriculum design, and instructional effectiveness. This role is responsible for the academic and administrative backbone of the Academy—owning lesson development, curriculum strategy, classroom systems, student performance tracking, and continuous program improvement. The Academy Director will provide selective classroom instruction, conduct research on best practices in skilled-trades education, and ensure the program operates with consistency, accountability, and long-term scalability. Hands-on lab training and field instruction are led by the Training Leader. The Academy Director ensures the classroom experience, academic rigor, and professional development components are aligned with company standards and career pathways.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in education, training administration, instructional leadership, or program management.
  • Demonstrated strength in lesson planning, curriculum development, and academic program organization.
  • Strong classroom leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cohorts and priorities simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with adult learning, vocational education, or workforce development programs.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, Plumbing, or Electrical trades (helpful but not required).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Academy’s academic structure, systems, and documentation.
  • Strengthen and maintain standardized calendars, block schedules, cohort timelines, and overlapping academy logistics.
  • Own classroom operations including setup standards, material readiness, recordkeeping, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain organized curriculum libraries, student files, attendance records, grading systems, and reporting dashboards.
  • Track program outcomes and prepare summaries and insights for leadership.
  • Develop, refine, and standardize lesson plans, learning objectives, assessments, and instructional tools.
  • Research emerging trends in vocational education, adult learning, and skilled-trades training to enhance program quality.
  • Build structured academic frameworks aligned with company values, safety expectations, professionalism, and long-term career development.
  • Partner closely with the Training Leader to ensure classroom instruction integrates effectively with lab and field training.
  • Deliver select classroom instruction across HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical academy tracks.
  • Facilitate discussions, foundational technical concepts, safety education, professionalism training, and company culture modules.
  • Maintain a structured, professional, and supportive learning environment that promotes accountability and engagement.
  • Oversee attendance tracking, quizzes, assessments, and performance benchmarks.
  • Provide academic coaching, progress reviews, and intervention plans for students needing additional support.
  • Communicate progress trends, concerns, and recommendations to the Training Leader and department leadership.
  • Reinforce professional behaviors, expectations, and readiness for field deployment.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using data, student feedback, and leadership input.
  • Recommend improvements to curriculum delivery, administrative workflows, and student engagement strategies.
  • Support grant reporting, documentation, audits, and compliance requirements as needed.
