About The Position

The Coordinator of K-12 STEAM and Instructional Technology provides district leadership for the design, implementation, and evaluation of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) initiatives and instructional technology integration. The coordinator works collaboratively with district leaders, campus administrators, and teachers to promote innovative teaching practices, expand technology-enhanced learning opportunities, and support high-quality instruction aligned to state standards and district goals. This position oversees STEAM programming and instructional technology initiatives to ensure access and improved student outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM/STEAM field, Instructional Technology, or related area
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Minimum 3 years of successful teaching experience in K-12 education
  • Experience integrating technology into classroom instruction
  • Strong understanding of STEAM education and interdisciplinary curriculum design
  • Knowledge of instructional technology tools and digital learning platforms
  • Ability to lead district initiatives and manage large-scale instructional programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate program effectiveness
  • Experience working collaboratively with campus and district leadership teams

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, Educational Leadership, or related field
  • Administrative certification preferred
  • Experience leading professional development or instructional initiatives preferred
  • Experience coordinating or managing programs preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of districtwide STEAM and instructional technology initiatives.
  • Develop long-term strategic plans to expand STEAM education and technology integration across K-12 campuses.
  • Ensure alignment of STEAM initiatives and instructional technology programs with district instructional goals and state standards.
  • Coordinate district initiatives such as robotics programs, maker spaces, coding initiatives, and STEM/STEAM events.
  • Support campus administrators and instructional leaders in implementing innovative STEAM instructional practices.
  • Promote project-based learning, inquiry-based instruction, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with curriculum departments to integrate STEAM and technology across content areas.
  • Monitor instructional practices and provide recommendations for improving student engagement and achievement.
  • Lead district efforts to integrate instructional technology tools and digital resources into classroom instruction.
  • Evaluate, select, and implement instructional technology platforms and applications that support teaching and learning.
  • Promote digital literacy, computational thinking, and responsible technology use among students and staff.
  • Design and coordinate professional development programs related to STEAM education and instructional technology.
  • Provide training, coaching, and support for teachers and instructional staff on effective technology integration and STEAM instruction.
  • Develop teacher leaders and campus-based specialists to support district initiatives.
  • Oversee the implementation of STEAM programs, grants, and district initiatives.
  • Coordinate and oversee district-wide and external STEAM competitions, showcases, and community engagement events, ensuring high-quality planning, execution, and stakeholder collaboration to promote student innovation and participation.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and materials related to STEAM and instructional technology programs.
  • Collaborate with external partners including universities, community organizations, and industry partners.
  • Collect and analyze program data to evaluate the effectiveness of STEAM and instructional technology initiatives.
  • Use student achievement and program data to inform instructional decisions and program improvements.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for district leadership regarding program outcomes and progress.
