About The Position

The Department of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine seeks a full-time (1.0 FTE) academic vascular and endovascular surgeon to join the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The Division of Vascular Surgery is a comprehensive academic program including an integrated residency in vascular surgery, vascular fellowship, clinical research, and an active clinical service. The selected candidate will contribute to the growth of the educational, research, and clinical missions of the Division.

Requirements

  • Must possess MD or DO degree
  • Must have completed an ACGME-approved Vascular Fellowship
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in Vascular Surgery
  • Must possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privilege
  • 5-12 years of clinical experience providing the full spectrum of open vascular reconstruction and endovascular interventions (for Associate Professor)
  • +12 years of clinical experience providing the full spectrum of open vascular reconstruction and endovascular interventions (for Professor)

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full spectrum of open vascular reconstruction and endovascular interventions.
  • Deliver inpatient and outpatient vascular clinical care.
  • Participate in the vascular surgery call schedule.
  • Interpret noninvasive vascular diagnostic studies.
  • Provide clinical care at the University of Colorado Hospital and CU Medicine–affiliated sites, including CU Vascular Surgery – Aurora, the Division’s new office-based lab.
  • Potentially provide comparable clinical services at other affiliated teaching hospitals, including the Veterans Administration Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Colorado.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities.
  • Mentor research residents.
  • Teach medical students and residents.
  • Contribute to the training of Vascular Fellows and Integrated Vascular Surgery residents.
