About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Academic Tutor to support students in grades K-8, primarily in reading and mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students succeed, strong communication skills, and the ability to tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.

Requirements

Minimum requirement: 60 college credits
Bachelor's degree in teaching or a related field preferred
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in literacy or math preferred but not required
Prior teaching or tutoring experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of K-8 reading and math standards
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate and engage students of varying skill levels

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with differentiated instruction techniques.
Ability to analyze data and adjust instruction accordingly.
Strong organizational skills for managing records and schedules.
Patience and adaptability in working with diverse learners.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in reading and math for students in grades K-8.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to align tutoring with classroom instruction.
Use student data to plan targeted lessons and interventions.
Track student progress and make instructional adjustments as needed.
Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress, and outcomes.
Manage time effectively to meet the needs of multiple students.
Reinforce classroom instruction and assist with homework or skill-building activities.
Communicate regularly with teachers and/or parents regarding student progress.
