Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center is an intensive inpatient residential treatment program that utilizes social/emotional therapy and trauma-informed care to serve adolescents (ages 11 to 17). The program builds upon the resiliency skills used to overcome challenges in their personal lives. The facility is looking for a certified Teacher in a code subject area either Science or English who will be responsible for the educational leadership of students in the classroom. Provides a classroom environment conducive to learning. Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student. Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student’s abilities and needs. Certified in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire. The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. A 4:1 student to staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site.
