About The Position

Primary Purpose: To provide direct instructional services to students in participating districts as part of the Region 16 Triage Task Force. The Teacher/Interventionist will deliver targeted intervention in Math and/or Reading Language Arts (RLA) for elementary students, preferably grades 3–5, using research-based practices, progress monitoring, and data-driven instructional decisions. Daily travel to assigned campuses is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Valid Texas teaching certification required
  • Strong knowledge and proven experience in Math and/or RLA, preferably in grades 3–5
  • Experience delivering research-based instruction and intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and travel between campuses
  • Ability to work collaboratively with district and ESC staff
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Effective communication and coaching abilities
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Must be physically able to tolerate prolonged sitting, frequent standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and standing
  • Must be physically able to tolerate frequent standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching, occasional driving
  • Must be physically able to tolerate regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds or more)
  • Must be physically able to work inside; tolerate frequent districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; regular exposure to noise
  • Must be able to work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours on occasion
  • Regular Attendance is an essential function

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-quality, standards-aligned instruction to students through direct teaching in Math and/or RLA.
  • Provides direct Tier 2 and Tier 3 intervention services using research-based instructional practices.
  • Implements progress-monitoring tools and adjusts instruction based on student data to support continuous student growth.
  • Provides Tier 1–3 scaffolded academic supports aligned with MTSS/RTI frameworks to meet diverse student needs.
  • Models effective instructional practices for teachers and support staff, demonstrating strategies for engagement, scaffolding, differentiation, and formative assessment.
  • Plans, internalizes, and delivers daily lessons aligned with district expectations and student learning needs.
  • Assists colleagues in planning and preparing lessons, including materials development, instructional design, and best-practice implementation.
  • Collaborates with campus staff, ESC personnel, district leaders, and colleagues in and beyond the ESC to identify instructional and professional development needs through detailed data analysis and self-reflection, supporting intervention plans and improving student learning.
  • Delivers instructional support and services that align with district needs and ESC expectations.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of services, student progress, and instructional support provided.
  • Participates in data reviews, team meetings, and district/ESC planning sessions as needed.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, professional working relationships with district staff, students, and families.
  • Provides content, best practices, and pedagogical expertise in technical assistance and professional development to support improvements in instructional practices and student learning.
  • Sets, modifies, and meets short- and long-term professional goals based on self-assessment, reflection, peer and supervisor feedback, contemporary research, and analysis of student learning.
  • Travels as a part of job responsibilities.
  • Maintains a functioning cell phone and is accessible through this phone as deemed appropriate by the service area director. A functioning cell phone means that it is charged, activated, messages checked, and mailbox emptied regularly.
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities.
  • Performs duties that directly and/or indirectly impact student performance in Region 16.
  • Maintains a professional level of confidentiality regarding all ESC matters.
  • Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC strategic plan.
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC safety program.
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Manages time, calendar, and job responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by the supervisor.
  • Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
