About The Position

The Academic/Special Ed Instructor position is a rewarding opportunity focused on training and mentoring at-risk youth. Requirements

  • Certified to teach in the state where the center is located (RO may waive if unable to hire certified teachers, but candidate must pursue certification).
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Academic Manager as a salaried, exempt position.
  • Performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in designated subject area.
  • Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom to ensure maximum student motivation.
  • Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom to ensure maximum learning.
  • Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport.
  • Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available.
  • Maintains student personnel folders.
  • Records and forwards daily attendance to the Student Records area.
