About The Position

This position is a non-tenure-track Teaching Assistant Professor in Materials Science and Engineering position. This is a twelve-month faculty appointment with an administrative stipend for administering the academic programs of the Arkansas Materials Institute. This position will require knowledge and expertise in undergraduate and graduate education and research in Materials Science and Engineering (MSEN). This position will work to sustain and improve the interdisciplinary graduate program in MSEN and work with the Director and Associate Director for Academics of the Institute to plan for and launch an undergraduate MSEN minor, while also recruiting and advising graduate students in the current MSEN program. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
  • Experience administering a graduate program in Materials Science and Engineering
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance
