Queensborough Community College's program in Nursing is seeking an Academic Program Coordinator to become a part of their team. The program of study is offered in both the spring and fall semesters, with an evening session available in the fall. With a current enrollment of over 280 nursing students, the mission of our program is to support and promote student retention and success. The Academic Program Coordinator serves as key administrative partner to the Department of Nursing Chairperson.

  • Support the Nursing Chairperson, by helping address students' academic concerns, compiling reports and collaborating with program coordinators.
  • Provide operational, logistical and communication support to ensure departmental effectiveness.
  • Serve as a resource person for students and faculty regarding program policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate clinical site assignments and maintain partnerships with hospitals and healthcare facilities.
  • Assist in the onboarding of nursing faculty.
  • Assist in developing the teaching assignment schedule for instructors.
  • Coordinate student enrollment, course registration, and clinical/lab assignments.
  • Serve as a liaison between faculty, students, administration, and external partners.
  • Support the integration of educational technology within the program.
  • Assist in budget planning for the academic program.
  • Management of office records including faculty files; collecting and maintaining statistical data on program progression and student outcomes while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited institution.
  • At least one year's experience working in a college academic department.
  • Strong written, organizational, and administrative skills: ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment toward all people and effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of existing ACEN and NYS academic standards related to nursing.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Outlook email, Microsoft Office software (Word, Adobe, Excel, Power Point), Zoom teleconferencing and site-specific software (Drop-Box, CUNY First tasks, Course Dog).
