Boston University's College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) seeks a professional to oversee operations and projects within the CAS Undergraduate Academic Program Office. This administrative office manages operations that support the curriculum and academic programs for a school of 8,400 undergraduates, 2,000 graduate students, 900 faculty, and 300 staff members across 35 academic departments/programs. The office partners closely with other administrative units within CAS as well as units across the University such as the Provosts office, the Registrars office, Analytical Services & Institutional Research, Information Services & Technology, the BU Hub Office, the Institute for Excellence in Teaching & Learning, Facilities Management, and more. The Academic Program Coordinator manages daily operations within the main suite of the CAS Undergraduate Academic Program Office.

  • Overseeing all office correspondence and communications
  • Reviewing the quality of all course scheduling change requests and triaging course scheduling issues
  • Providing administrative support to the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean for the office
  • Administering data collection and analysis projects
  • Training and regularly coaching departmental/program staff on relevant computer systems and practices (e.g., My BU Student, 25Live, Blue, Course Leaf, Academic Planning Database)
  • Processing implementation of CAS courses and programs into both CAS's curriculum and the University's general education curriculum
  • Partnering with the BU Academic Assessment office to coordinate semesterly online course evaluation dissemination across CAS courses
  • Tracking and archiving data (e.g., grader requests, low enrollment, curricular development, final grades, learning program assessment, and teaching awards)
  • Supporting the work of the CAS Professional Development Committee as well as to the CAS Deans Office in new initiative
  • Managing proprietary classroom spaces, ordering supplies, and planning meetings
  • B.A./B.S. and 1-3 years of experience is required for this position
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience with student information systems is a plus
  • Proficiency with data collection and analysis preferred
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Project management and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Experience training and/or teaching is also a plus
  • Consideration for up to 2 days of remote work per week after one semester of work
