About The Position

The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is seeking full-time faculty members at the Assistant Professor rank to join their adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The role involves participating in the growth of the Heart and Vascular Institute, utilizing state-of-the-art technology, and collaborating closely with vascular and cardiothoracic surgery. The position includes responsibilities in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, staffing the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and providing outpatient clinical care across multiple locations.

Requirements

• Medical doctorate or equivalent.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Illinois.
• Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiology.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.
• Eligibility or passage of the Added Qualification Examination in Interventional Cardiology.

Nice To Haves

• Experience and/or training in peripheral vascular intervention.
• Experience in complex coronary revascularization.
• Experience in mechanical circulatory/cardiopulmonary support.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the growth of the Heart and Vascular Institute.
• Perform a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory.
• Staff the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
• Provide outpatient clinical care at main campus, Orland Park, and River East.
• Participate in a 1:6 call schedule.
• Train and supervise trainees and students.
• Engage in scholarly activity.
