About The Position

The Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine at the M Health Fairview's University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is seeking a board certified/eligible Pediatric Hospitalist at the Assistant Professor rank on the academic or clinical track. This individual will provide care at one or both of our clinical sites. We are a group of nearly 60 pediatric and med-peds hospitalists who provide coverage at two Twin Cities area hospitals: University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital (UMMCH) and Fairview Ridges Hospital. UMMCH is an academic, free-standing children's hospital in Minneapolis providing a full range of pediatric specialties services including PICU, transplant, and pediatric cardiology. Fairview Ridges Hospital is a community site in the South Metro of the Twin Cities with floor-level inpatient pediatrics, ED pediatric consults, and newborn nursery. Position Highlights: This is an outstanding opportunity to be part of a dynamic and expanding team of hospitalists, whose primary goal is to provide exceptional, family-centered and innovative care to pediatric patients. The duties of a hospitalist include all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, caring for newborns through 18+ year-old patients, and working closely with the primary care physicians and specialists. Delivery coverage is not required. At both of our clinical sites, we are involved in teaching a variety of medical learners including medical students, residents, and APP students; leading quality improvement and patient safety projects; and administrative leadership responsibilities. The new position will be at the Assistant Professor level for most applicants, on the UMN Academic or Clinician tracks. The clinical FTE will be determined by the individual’s interests and departmental needs. Shifts include both daytime and overnight in-house coverage. Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship experience is a plus but not required for this position. Academic appointments will be made through the University of Minnesota Medical School's Department of Pediatrics. This position provides ample opportunity for growth and development.
