Situated in the bustling Texas Medical Center, Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group, Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a board-certified internist to join our growing academic primary care faculty. Please note, this isn't a hospitalist opportunity. Serving the community for over 100 years, Houston Methodist is comprised of an academic institute and eight hospitals. Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO)
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine
  • Demonstrated commitment to clinical excellence, education, and scholarship
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an academic medical center preferred

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Care: Provide high-quality primary care services to adult patients within our faculty practice.
  • Teaching and Supervision: Serve as an educator and mentor to internal medicine residents in our outpatient resident continuity clinic. Provide clinical supervision, facilitate didactic sessions, and offer constructive feedback to support the professional development of trainees.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational curricula in primary care medicine. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment with program goals and accreditation requirements.
  • Scholarly Activity: Engage in scholarly pursuits, including research, quality improvement projects, and academic writing. Disseminate findings through presentations at conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, promote continuity, and enhance the patient experience. Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other collaborative initiatives to support organizational goals.
