Academic Optometrist – Full-Time

UMass Memorial Health, the premier health care system in Central Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time Academic Optometrist to join our growing team in Worcester and Northborough, MA. Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited program
- Licensed (or license-eligible) to practice in Massachusetts
- Board certified or board eligible in optometry
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive eye exams, emergency follow up care, glaucoma co-management, vision rehabilitation services, and same day service care.
- Prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations
- Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of ocular diseases and conditions
- Prescribe corrective lenses and therapeutic treatments
- Provide urgent and emergency eye care when needed
- Exercise autonomy in clinical decision making
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the system
- Ensure continuity of care for patients throughout the system
