About The Position
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, is seeking full-time faculty members specializing in general medicine-pediatrics. This position is designed for individuals who are committed to clinical practice, education, and quality improvement within the field of Medicine-Pediatrics (Med-Peds). The Med-Peds Residency program, established in 1982, trains 16 residents annually, with a significant number of graduates pursuing careers in general Med-Peds or subspecialty training. Appointees will become part of a well-established General Medicine program, which includes nine faculty members specializing in medicine-pediatrics. The role involves developing an academic niche that leverages the faculty's expertise in primary care, healthcare delivery, medical education, and health equity. Clinical responsibilities will primarily involve patient care at the Primary Care Group located at the Hyde Park campus, with occasional duties at network and affiliate sites. Leadership opportunities may also be available for qualified candidates. In addition to clinical duties, faculty members will be responsible for teaching and supervising medicine-pediatrics trainees and interested students, as well as engaging in scholarly activities.
