About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Winchester, CA 92596 Details: In-Person Tutoring in Winchester, CA 92596 Schedule: 25 hours a month, 2 sessions a week for 2 hours each (2 days to start to bring to 3 days a week ) Pay rate ranges from $25-$35 per hour Ideal Candidate: Experience working with young adults with autism or learning differences Background supporting college-level or transitional students in academic and functional skills Familiarity with culinary terminology, recipe reading, and hands-on instruction (preferred) Strong skills in reading comprehension, writing, and language development Experience supporting executive functioning skills (organization, time management, task initiation) Ability to break down multi-step tasks into clear, manageable instructions Patient, upbeat, and encouraging, with strong communication skills Skilled in creating structured, consistent, and engaging sessions Creative in incorporating student interests into lessons to increase motivation Why Tutor Me Education? Requirements

  • Experience working with young adults with autism or learning differences
  • Background supporting college-level or transitional students in academic and functional skills
  • Strong skills in reading comprehension, writing, and language development
  • Experience supporting executive functioning skills (organization, time management, task initiation)
  • Ability to break down multi-step tasks into clear, manageable instructions
  • Patient, upbeat, and encouraging, with strong communication skills
  • Skilled in creating structured, consistent, and engaging sessions
  • Creative in incorporating student interests into lessons to increase motivation

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with culinary terminology, recipe reading, and hands-on instruction (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for culinary coursework, including understanding terminology, reading recipes, and following multi-step instructions
  • Break down cooking tasks into clear, step-by-step guidance to support independence and success
  • Reinforce sequencing, organization, and task completion during hands-on learning activities
  • Conduct an English assessment to evaluate current skill levels and guide instruction
  • Provide targeted support in reading comprehension, writing, and language development
  • Support written communication through structured writing activities tied to student interests
  • Develop language and communication skills, including expressive language and understanding written directions
  • Teach and reinforce executive functioning strategies, including organization, time management, and follow-through
  • Support functional academic skills, including self-advocacy and applying strategies across coursework and daily life
  • Incorporate student interests (e.g., video games, The Legend of Zelda, Batman, psychology) to increase engagement
  • Maintain a structured, supportive, and encouraging learning environment
  • Communicate progress with caregivers and adjust strategies as needed
