The University of Utah Department of Psychiatry, in partnership with the Huntsman Mental Health Institute ( HMHI ), is inviting applications for faculty Inpatient Community Psychiatrist positions at the Kem and Carolyn Gardner Mental Health Crisis Care Center ( MHCCC ). This state-of-the-art, 82,000-square-foot facility serves as the primary crisis care center for Salt Lake County. The MHCCC features a 23-hour receiving center, a 24-bed inpatient unit, and a dedicated floor for comprehensive services including case management, legal aid, and addiction treatment. Set to open in early 2025, this innovative center will help adults in mental health crisis de-escalate, stabilize, and connect to community resources catered to their individual mental health needs. The center will help our guests navigate a path to mental wellness by unifying critical crisis services and many community resources in one easy-to-access location. A key aspect of this academic role involves the educational training and supervision of psychiatric residents. We seek qualified professionals to help us meet the challenges of providing high-quality psychiatric services in a growing mental health care market.
