About The Position

The Academic Coordinator at Mather House serves as a vital support role for the Allston Burr Resident Dean and the broader Mather House community. This position is responsible for maintaining the office operations, providing administrative support, and facilitating communication among students, faculty, and staff. The coordinator plays a key role in enhancing the academic mission of the House and ensuring a welcoming environment for a diverse student population.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of office administration experience.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with editing and grammatical proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituents and manage change effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.
  • Experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Experience with digital information management applications such as PowerPoint and Google Docs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Resident Dean's office during operational hours by responding to student and staff inquiries.
  • Handle confidential student files and prepare dockets and correspondence for Administrative Board and Honor Council meetings.
  • Keep track of academic calendar deadlines and coordinate communications to students.
  • Liaise with other departments and coordinate activities for Commencement.
  • Provide day-to-day support for the Dean, including scheduling appointments and managing the Dean's website.
  • Interface with Registrar databases and housing information management systems.
  • Assess data and disseminate information about data to relevant parties.
  • Maintain House email lists and student data spreadsheets.
  • Assist the Dean with preparation of materials related to academic duties.
