About The Position

The Academic Coordinator for the Department of Nursing provides essential administrative support to the Director of Nursing, Associate Director of Nursing, faculty, and clinical supervisors. This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including faculty support, academic support, administrative support, and student support. The coordinator will assist in hiring processes, manage travel arrangements, develop class schedules, coordinate events, and provide academic advising services. The position requires a commitment to the university's theological positions and involves working closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure the smooth operation of the nursing program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or two years of college education with 2 years of previous administrative experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Drive, and Google Docs.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to confidentiality issues.

  • Experience in event planning and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Director of Nursing and Associate Director of Nursing, 10 full-time faculty, and 20+ Clinical Supervisors.
  • Assist in the hiring process of full-time faculty, adjuncts, and clinical supervisors.
  • Support faculty with travel arrangements for conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and program evaluation tasks.
  • Develop class schedules for Nursing and Healthcare Management programs.
  • Perform course-related tasks for Department faculty.
  • Coordinate program/department events and manage budgets.
  • Collect data and manage reports for accreditation agencies.
  • Prepare and track accounting documents.
  • Greet visitors and manage communication with students and faculty.
  • Maintain organized files and manage the Department’s Google Drive.
  • Coordinate logistics for student-run clubs and departmental ceremonies.
  • Provide academic advising services to students.
  • Plan and execute admissions outreach events.
  • Verify and oversee submission of health files for clinical requirements.
  • Lead orientation sessions for incoming clinical nursing students.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with 40 hours/week, 12 months per year.
  • Competitive hourly wage ranging from $21.53 to $24.65.
